Alright folks, I've thought about this some but I'm not as well versed as some in both performance and sound quality of existing recording freely available on the internet archive, my question is (yes, this was a long sentence) what show, or portion of a show, would you play for someone who is unconvinced the Dead were any good and who are a:

A) Country/Folk fan
B) Groove/Phish type of fan
C) Early 90's Alternative rock fan

Yes, this is very open ended... but I thought ripe for debate... My thoughts so far would be:
A) Something in 71 or 72. Perhaps the Capitol run in early 71 though this is quite raw sounding for a country fan. Perhaps the acoustic set run in 80, but I think this is rather unrepresentative like the acoustic sets of 70.
B)Maybe this is a category that is unnecessary but probably something like a Scarlet-> Fire from 77.
C) This is the tough one. I've been listening to a lot of 68 and 69 the past couple weeks and there's a ton of dark jamming that could be intriguing to someone in this category.

Hey Memphis,

This is a pretty big question especially for a Saturday Night when we lose an hours sleep.

-A good 67 show with the entire Cryptical,New Potato & Alligator
-Almost anything from 69 with decent sound quality
-A show from 1970 Acoustic/Electric
-DarkStar>Eyes>China Doll from Madison 73
-Great American Music hall-75
-I also really like Truckin>NFA Englishtown 77
-Cleveland 78-Trippy set list & World to Give
-REDROCKS 85 (The Frozen Logger show)
-89/90-The Brent SUPERNOVA
-90-Last MSG before Europe tour(second set-HOT)
-Branford MSG-Show both sets
-Encore-Dead cover of Lucy in the Sky
